Helping Us With Fishing

Where ever you find fishing, you will find tackle shops. You can even find tackle shops where there isn’t a fishing hole to be seen for miles around. Many tackle shops have been around for a number of years and have become a staple of the community. I popped down to my local fishing spot and asked the locals what they thought of them.

Steve, from Ashford in Kent said “I am a regular at my local tackle shop. Me and the lads will pop in before a fish on a Saturday morning as soon as the doors open to stock up for the weekend at the river. You see the same faces in there. Everyone is doing the same thing. There is a good bit of banter between the other customers and sometimes there is a bit of a tussle to get the best bait before it has all gone. I suffered a broken rib and a concussion once last year [laughs]. It was worth it though, I caught a monster. ”. At this point, one of his friends, a bearded man in his 40s, chirps in “No you didn’t. It was a tiddler like your …..”

When asked about the staff, Steve had this to say “They are all very knowledgeable.  All of them have been fishing since they were boys and know the local waters like the back of their hands. You get a few people who think they know it all and won’t take advice from anyone, you know, out of pride but sometimes you just need to swallow it and ask the experts. They are always happy to give you a few tips or point you in the right direction. Like I said before, they are the experts so you’d be silly not to listen to them.”
