Largest Species Of Deep Sea Fish

Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

By Stacy Robinson

for the biggest fish is a usual topic of conversation among anglers. Freshwater fish can grow fairly large, but they are no competition for saltwater, . Those hardy anglers who venture out into the deep sea in small boats to see what they can catch are truly brave, but only a few can boast of catching really .

The biggest fish the ocean has to offer are sharks. The largest shark is the whale shark. The whale shark has been reported measuring 50 feet long and weigh over 18 metric tons. This is bigger than a grey hound bus or a semi truck and trailer. It is also bigger than most of the boats anglers rent to go out .

The next largest shark is the basking shark. This shark has been caught weighing over 12 metric tons and 43 feet long. It is the size of a big RV. But the basking shark and the whale shark won’t be caught by anglers unless it is an accident. They are both plankton eaters. They swim through the deep sea with their mouths open collecting plankton as the water filters through their gills. It would be possible to get a hook and line tangled up in their gills, but nothing would be able to bring them in, let alone get them on the boat!

The thresher shark is a huge fish eating shark that is catch able. These sharks have been known to grow 20 feet long and over 1000 pounds. Then there is the great white shark. This fish, which has a bad name in the world, can grow very large. In 1952, off of the coast of Cape Donnington, Australia, a great white was caught weighing 2071 lbs, which is over 1 ton. Then in 1962, off the coast of Long Island, New York, a great white was caught that dwarfed the one from Australia. This fish was 17 and a half feet long and weighed an estimated 4500lbs. That is over 2 and a half tons.

After the sharks, the is most likely the biggest fish caught deep sea fishing. The record fish caught at Kona, Hawaii was 1100 lbs. It was caught in 1967. There was another 1100 lb caught in 1966 at LeMorne, Mauritius. In the Atlantic Ocean the are smaller. In 1956 off of the coast of San Juan, Puerto Rico a 756 lb was caught. The is another large species of fish and it is found all over the Pacific Ocean but there seem to be a large number off of the coast of California. In August of 1956, boats from San Clemente, California, caught a black bass weighing 514 lbs. The wahoo is another deep sea species that can grow large. In 1960, off the coast of Marathon, , there was a Wahoo caught weighing 139 lbs. These are some of the largest fish ever caught in the deep ocean. There maybe others that are as big or bigger because the large fish of the ocean are constantly growing.

Dependable Deep Sea Fishing Advise To Catch A Magnificent Monster

| Posted in fishing
Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

For many avid fanatics the dream of going deep sea and catching a gigantic fish represents the ultimate experience. Some people plan and save for many years for the adventure. It would be a huge disappointment if they only catch small fish or even worse, if they were skunked. Here are a few tips to make sure your trip is fun and productive.

The first thing that must be done is determine what species of fish you are going to try and catch. There are several species of fish that are monstrous, like the and the blue fin tuna, which have been caught in the 1000 plus pounds range. There is also and giant sea bass which can weight several hundred pounds.

Once you determine the species then decide the best time of year to go fishing for that species. Every species has a certain time of year when they are located in a certain area of the world. There may be a few of the species there year round but at certain times there are large numbers of them present. When there are large numbers particular species in an area the chance of catching a monster is a lot greater.

At this part of the planning stage you determine what part of the world you are going to. It is always good to go fishing where the current world record fish is caught. That is a sure way to know there are in the region.

Reviewing some good of the region is also helpful. can tell you the currents, where the fish travel. The maps will also show you the bottom formation and water depths. Each species of fish has certain depths they like to stay in.

They also stay where there are certain bottom formations. For most of the big fish this has to do with where they find their or where their finds . A basic understanding of the will help locate big fish as well.

The next part of the planning is the boat. Wherever you decide to go you need to check on the ability to rent a boat. Most places rent boats complete with crew and guides. It is usually the best way to go out on the ocean. Having an experienced crew can be the difference between having a record marlin and being like the S.S. Minnow.

Interviewing the boat captain and crew is an important part of the process. Ask him about the best time of the year to fish as well as the locations. Compare this to your research and question him if what he tells you is different than what your research has shown.

Ask him about what will be supplied and what you need to bring with you. Most importantly, ask him how many fish he has caught over a certain weight, say 700 pounds. Also ask about the price.

Once you have done your research and hired a boat and guide, you are ready. The guide should supply the best bait and put you in the right location. Now with a little bit of patience you should catch an enormous monster of the deep sea.

Bass Fishing Bait Is The Important Factor In Your Fishing Success

| Posted in baits
Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

When it comes to bass , a lot of factors can help lead to how successful you can be in terms of . If you want to become a good bass angler, then you need to be able to develop a good skill in bass , as well as have a solid and good understanding and strategy about the type of bass gear you choose to use when you go bass .

One specific aspect of gear that you need to take the time to learn and understand is all about the types of bass that you will use when you go bass fishing.

There are actually a number of different that you can choose from. However, you don’t necessarily have to use all of them, nor should you choose to use only one for every fishing situation.

It is important to remember that all of these fishing baits have their own use, and their own advantages when used. Here are some things that you must learn about bass fishing baits, so that you can develop your own strategy on how to use them.

Live Bait:
One of the more productive types of bass fishing baits that you can use is live bait. The natural movement of the worm as it tries to wriggle around the hook where it is attached is very appealing to most bass fishes out there, making it an ideal type of bass fishing bait. This type of bait would only work best if it was used in a clear body of water, and if it was used in an area where there are not that much dense bushy covering around the water where the hook might get caught. This type of bait will need to be replenished on a regular basis since this type of bait has a very short lifespan.

Jigs:
A jig is a very versatile type of bass fishing bait, as this can be used in practically almost any type of fishing condition and situation. It doesn’t matter if you are fishing in shallow water or in deep water, you can use this particular lure still. This is actually a fairly popular lure for most , both professionals and amateurs, mainly because this type of lure has a high catch ratio in terms of the number of bites that the lure would get.

Swim Baits:
Swim baits are a great type of bass fishing lure, especially if you are aiming to catch those deep bass that dwell and forage in deeper areas of the water. The swim bait actually allows you to go deeper down the water and fish these deep water bass out. What makes these swim bait lures very effective in catching deep bass is the fact that they resemble a lot like the forage fish that most larger-sized deep bass fishes eat.

Crank Baits:
Crank baits are actually a type of subsurface plugs that are specifically designed to move or wiggle from side to side as you try to retrieve it from the water. This movement will actually attract the bass fish to it. The movement is actually determined based on the width of the lure, and the size of the bill or the lips on the bait. Although you can practically use this type of bait, or any subsurface plug for that matter, at almost any time of the year, it is advisable that you use this when the temperature of the water is just above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Minnow Baits:
Minnow baits are another type of subsurface plugs that are designed to attract bass fish on different depths, from the shallow end to the deeper parts of the water. Minnow baits are actually pretty similar to crank baits, but are just more realistic in how they mimic the look and the movement of real forage fish. This particular bait is best

Jerk Baits:
As the name implies, jerk baits are a type of subsurface plugs that are retrieved in a jerking motion. This means that the bait is tugged and paused for a couple of times in order to attract the bass fish, more specifically those that reside in the deep parts of the water. This is usually a great bait to use during the dead of winter, or the middle of summer.

Bass Fishing in Hot Weather and at Night

| Posted in bass
Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

Before heading out to , make sure that you know the area that you are going to fish. Most lakes have structures just below the surface such as stumps, metal pipes from old boat docks and rocks that can be very dangerous while boating at night.

Knowing the lake and where these hazards are at the current water level will save you on costly repairs to your boat and possibly your life. Safety first, make sure all running lights are working on your boat and that you have good flashlight or head lamp on board before heading out.

Research has shown that bass move into shallow water to feed at night; especially in the warmer months of the year. During the summer daylight hours, most bass seek deep water refuge from the sun and extreme heat, making them more difficult to catch. At night, they feel more secure and tend to roam shallow flats looking for making them an easier target for .

To gear up for a night trip make sure that you have plenty of lures with a dark color. Black, purple, or blue fleck are great colors to start with. Most bass feed while looking up and can see a dark silhouette at night better than they can a lighter tint. Lures range from slow moving jigs and Texas rigged worms to fast moving spinner-baits and crank-baits.

The key is to make sure that you use a bulky lure that moves a lot of water so that the bass can find it easier in the dark. Some of the best night time lures include a 10 inch Berkley power worm and a ½ ounce spinner-bait with a big Colorado blade. You may also want to add a rattle to your lure as another attraction. If your lake has an abundance of aquatic grass such as hydrilla or milfoil, a slow running, black buzz-bait will produce some startling strikes.

The best areas on a lake to night fish are those that have a lot of shallow brush or rocks next to deeper water. This includes the rip-rap along dams and bridges as well as boat docks. Other key areas are banks that are well lit such as those in a marina or boat docks that have a security light that remains on all night.

Bass will position themselves in the shadows of these lights waiting for a shad, perch or crawfish to swim by. If you are night during a full moon, fish the banks that have moon-light shining on them. Target the shadows that the moon-light makes on the bank behind trees, rocks or brush.

Night-time can provide some of the best action all year long. Make sure that you are well prepared and slow down while boating across the lake. Remember to be cautious and to put safety first and you will have an enjoyable experience.

White River Trout Fishing: A Great Fishing Experience

| Posted in trout
Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

White water is always an exciting experience both for the skilled or unskilled . The rush of the swollen high seas during the wet season is exhilarating against breathtaking landscape. Many a fisherman just cannot wait for winter to be over, for the fish to start biting!

For a great white water trout time, you will need to:

• Know the season – Trout are seasonal creatures, given to changing their behavior with change in season. Depending on the trout species, trout spawn at different times, for instance the spawns in late spring and early summer as the temperatures rise. Brown trout on the other hand spawn in autumn, while the lake trout is well known to spawn only at night in the fall.

Fishing during spawning periods is amazing as the trout even change colour. Preparation for spawning also means a change in location for most trout species, moving from streams to larger water bodies like lakes or moving upstream. Trout also change their biting patterns with change in season.

When the waters are high, the fish tend to hug the shorelines, so it would be wiser to fish nearer the shore than further out. You may also want to do surface fishing, as most of the fish are in higher levels of water.

The highly active fish is looking for some good prey and the best angling methods to use at this time involve dipping the lure for the fish to see then causing it to move quickly away. If the lure stays too long, the observant fish will know you are up to something.

Lower temperatures and low waters cause trout to be very lethargic, and their biting becomes very poor. At this time, you may want to employ lures that the fish love and occur naturally in their environment. This can also be found in fishing supply shops in the area in perfect replicas of the real. Furthermore use a dead-drift angling technique: let your lure drift very slowly, so that the lazy fish are encouraged to bite.

• Understand the the trout in the area go for – Most white water trout like to feed on aquatic insects like prolific scud and sow bug, snails, mayfly nymphs, larvae and little crayfish. If you are not able to get some live bait, go for reproductions of this in the fishing supply shops in the area.

This way, you’ll catch trout quickly and get to keep your bait for future use. The white rivers of the world, be it in South Africa or America, promise lots of brown, brook trout and cutthroat trout. Dress warm though, preferably in layers that you can gently remove when its hotter. This way you wont rock the boat too much  and you’ll get your choicest trout yet!

Trout fishing guide – absolutely important basics

| Posted in trout
Fishing Tips, Tricks and Advice Here ph

All the romance of trout exists in the mind of the angler and is in no way shared by the fish.  ~Harold F. Blaisdell, The Philosophical Fisherman.

thoroughly enjoy as a sport or for more serious economic or research reasons. Knowing exactly where to find the sublimely sweet fish and how to catch them is the fisherman’s joy. This guide will make any aspiring ’s dream come true:

First and foremost, trout fishing requires an understanding of trout habits. There are many types of trout including , brown trout and . Trout prefer moving cool waters and are found in both salty and fresh water bodies, which leads to the reference lake trout, brook trout or sea trout.

Trout can live to an average of 7 years and grow as big as 27 kgs! It is difficult to describe a particular trout species by its color as the same species in a different environment adapts a different color. For instance, are silverfish while river trout have brown dots and those found in alpine rivers are greenish.

Trout are predatorial fish, which aggressively look for when they are hungry, snapping at flies, worms and even smaller fish. They are therefore likely to find even an artificial lure difficult to resist, thinking of it as the real thing.

A good lure would be an exact depiction of the juiciest worm, tastiest fly or grubbiest spider made by your local fisherman’s supply store. It is important to figure out which kind of trout you are out to fish and what they eat before finding an appropriate lure.

Every trout fisherman has his own theory on the best time for trout fishing depending on their personal success. Some claim its better in the mornings and evenings while others insist they’ve caught trout in the middle of the day! Some fishing gurus give the best times to fish various varieties in the summer, spring and autumn.

The crux of the matter is that the time of day does not matter as much as the technique applied in catching the fish.

When fishing, it is important to remember that trout are very sensitive fish and scatter in alarm at the slightest irritation. It is therefore prudent to fish when it is quiet and there is not much activity around such as other fishermen. The clearer the water, the more likely the catch.

This is because the fish will easily see your lure and come for it. However, very still waters may be disadvantageous as they cause a mirror effect which when slightly disturbed scares the fish away. Windy days are also not the best to go fishing as they disturb the water and scare away the fish. Due to this it would be wise to cast your line in an expert manner disturbing the water as little as possible and let your lure move slowly giving the fish an impression of a real bite-able bug.

Furthermore, remember to dress appropriately for your day out fishing. In the winter, early mornings or dusk, put on layered clothing and hats that will keep you warm and are easy to remove if you get too warm.  When trout fishing just as in any other hunting experience, think like the prey and you will surely catch it!
